ABOUT THE LEADER

Geraldo Monnerat (Moy Ka Lai To) is a direct disciple of Grandmaster Leo Imamura in Ving Tsun Kung Fu, with lineage to Ip Man. Recognized as a Master by Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence and the International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation, he focuses on preserving and transmitting the Ving Tsun System.

Geraldo Monnerat (Moy Ka Lai To) is a direct disciple of Grandmaster Leo Imamura (Moy Yat Sang), belonging to the 11th generation of masters in the lineage of Ving Tsun Kung Fu. He is a second-generation disciple of Patriarch Moy Yat, whose lineage traces back to the renowned Patriarch Ip Man.

Monnerat was admitted into the Moy Yat Sang family in 1997, formalizing his entry with the Hoi Kuen in July of that year. In 1998, he had the distinction of performing the Traditional Baai Si Din Lai Ceremony with his Si Fu, Grandmaster Leo Imamura, requesting the presence of Patriarch Moy Yat and Matriarch Helen Moy.

That same year, he had the opportunity to participate in the 4th Biu Ji Certification Ceremony, conducted by Patriarch Moy Yat himself and other Grandmasters of IMYVTF.

In 2018, he was recognized with the establishment of his own kung fu family (Moy Ka Lai To Mun) through the Jiu Paai ceremony, symbolizing his legitimacy as a Si Fu.

As a co-founder of the MOY YAT INSTITUTE.

In 2023, he was titled as a Qualified Master by Moy Yat Ving Tsun Martial Intelligence under Grandmaster Leo Imamura, simultaneously assuming the position of a member of the Council of Masters of MYVTMI.

The following year, in 2024, his title was further expanded by Grandmaster William Moy, natural son of Patriarch Moy Yat and president of the INTERNATIONAL MOY YAT VING TSUN FEDERATION, being recognized as a Master by the International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation, in Brasília.

Also in the same year, during Grandmaster Leo Imamura's 61st anniversary in Brasília, Brazil, Monnerat was honored with the title of LIFETIME MEMBER OF I.M.Y.V.T.F., conferred by his mentor Grandmaster Leo Imamura and the President of the International Moy Yat Ving Tsun Federation, Grandmaster William Moy.

With extensive experience in martial arts since childhood and certifications in various Chinese and Thai styles, Monnerat dedicates himself fully to transmitting the Ving Tsun System and preserving the legacy of Patriarch Moy Yat.
