Patriarch Moy Yat's Vision of the Future
In 1996, Patriarch Moy Yat met with Patriarch Ip Man's sons to discuss the future of Ving Tsun. The November issue of Inside Kung Fu magazine that year announced “Ving Tsun Leaders Unite! Ip Chun, Ip Ching, Moy Yat Call For New World Order.” On the occasion, Patriarch Moy Yat presented his vision of the future. “The transmission of the Ving Tsun System is aimed at mature people [for the practice of Kung Fu]".
Below you can read the transcription of his own words: We must reflect on the difficulty for those interested in general - particularly children - in accessing the Ving Tsun System. We must care about everyone - especially children - and we want everyone interested to feel part of our Kung Fu Family.
But as the nature of Ving Tsun Kung Fu is not easy to understand, we must wait for people to mature so that they can access the system. It will never be too late.
We have stated that the Ving Tsun System can contribute to people's intelligence.
To achieve this, we began to offer some elements, which include Siu Nim Do, so that they can practice and appreciate the Ving Tsun System in the future.
For those interested in the Ving Tsun System, we can work on its elementary aspects, starting from Siu Nim Do and its associated components - as well as its attributes - in order to offer an experience of what Ving Tsun Kung Fu is.
This way, we can wait for people to mature to access the system.”
